Primary source
| Fact | Label | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| SAM.gov has been the official site for Davis-Bacon general wage determinations since 14 June 2019, replacing WDOL.gov. Free, and viewable without an account. | [V] | dol.gov, Prevailing Wage Resource Book |
| General wage determinations carry no expiration date and remain valid until modified, superseded or cancelled by the Department of Labor. | [V] | FAR 22.404-1(a)(1) |
| Archived determinations are available for information purposes only, and contracting officers may not use one in a contract action without prior Department of Labor approval. | [V] | FAR 22.404-1(a)(2) |
| Record URLs are revision-versioned, so a specific revision has a specific public address. | [V] | Observed on live records |
| Per-occupation rate tables are retrievable programmatically, without an account, one request per revision — as a document that must be parsed, not as structured data. | [V] | Measured directly, 5 August 2026; 26 captured responses |
| The source record's publication date and the document's own modification table do not always agree. | [V] | Measured across six captured documents. See Methodology. |
| No document-level bulk export exists. Rate tables are one request per revision. | [V] | Probed directly; the extract endpoint returns no content |
| Rate limits on the unauthenticated endpoints are undisclosed. No rate-limit header is published and no throttling was observed across 26 sequential requests. | [V] | Measured. An absent header is an absent disclosure, not an absent limit — the ingest is spaced and capped regardless. |
| How often the two publication dates disagree across the whole archive. | [U] | Six documents is not a sample. Worth one targeted probe. |
| Whether these undocumented endpoints are stable over time. | [U] | They are the wage determination application's own back end. They carry no compatibility promise, which is why the ingest fails loudly rather than writing an empty table over a good one. |
Legal posture
Wage determinations are US Government works — federal edicts and public records. This archive reads only surfaces that require no account and no acceptance of terms, and it does not read any logged-in surface.
Not used
- Commercial cost databases and proprietary contractor pricing data.
- Paid wage determination APIs. This archive is assembled from the primary source rather than proxied from a competitor.
- State department of transportation bid tabulations.
