Wage determination
A published Department of Labor document listing wage and fringe rates by classification for a locality and construction type.
A wage determination lists classifications of worker — carpenter, electrician, power equipment operator and so on — with a base hourly rate and a fringe benefit rate for each, for a specified locality and type of construction.
General wage determinations, sometimes called general decisions, cover a locality and construction type and are used for as long as they remain in force. Project wage determinations are issued for a specific project. This archive holds general determinations.
A general wage determination carries no expiration date. It remains valid until it is modified, superseded or cancelled by the Department of Labor, which is why the question of which revision was in force on a given date has an answer at all.
Determinations are revised. Each revision has its own number, its own publication date and its own public record, and this archive treats each as a separate document rather than as an update to one.
